The Food Lion supermarket in Oakland Mills Village Center was broken into yesterday morning, and an undetermined amount of merchandise was taken, Howard County police said.

Police received a call at 4:22 a.m. for an alarm at the supermarket in the 5800 block of Robert Oliver Place, said a Howard County police spokesman.

When officers arrived, they found a front window smashed, police said. The investigation is continuing and no suspects have been identified.
