Tech Council hosts informatics session

The Anne Arundel Tech Council will hold Coffee and Informatics at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp. Offices, 401 Headquarters Drive, Suite 205, Millersville.

Participants will examine informatics, network and discuss the future of the industry.

Seminar to examine small health plans

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold "A Biz Tools Group Seminar" at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at its office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

The topic is "The Big Fix: A 2007 Look at Maryland Small Group Health Plans."

Presenter Lynda Sussman of CorridorCare/C.O.B. Inc. will discuss recent and proposed changes to Maryland Small Group Health Reform.

The cost is $10 in advance for members, and $20 for nonmembers and at the door.

Comcast awards event is Thursday

The 2007 Comcast Business Hall of Fame and annual Business Awards ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the BWI Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Road in Linthicum.

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will recognize business leaders in Anne Arundel County for leadership and success, and will induct several business leaders into the Comcast Business Hall of Fame.

Tickets are $70 with paid registration; $80 for nonmembers.

Chambers to detail member benefits

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will hold a "Membership 101" program for business professionals at 9 a.m. Thursday at the BWCC office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

Participants will learn how to get the most out of their BWCC membership, networking techniques and ways to promote their business.

Real estate careers are seminar focus

Long & Foster Realtors will hold three seminars this week on "A Career in Real Estate." Topics will include how to get started in a real estate career, course requirements, training costs and the benefits of a real estate career. Seminars are free, but reservations are advised.

Two banks become business lenders

The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp. has announced the addition of Provident Bank and the Columbia Bank as participating lenders in the Arundel Business Loan Fund. There are 18 participating banks.

The ABL Fund offers SBA-guaranteed loans of up to $300,000 to companies doing business in Anne Arundel County.

Over the past five years, businesses have received a total of $798,000 in loans from the ABL Fund.
