The former Federal Reserve chairman's comment, delivered by telephone to a Hong Kong business conference on Monday, was followed by the sharpest drop in the Dow Jones industrial average in four years. Analysts blamed a Chinese market correction for much of the fall, but there was broad agreement that a wider market correction was possible.
