George Washington tops Mount St. Mary's, 14-7

Casey Paris had a hat trick in a losing effort for host Mount St. Mary's as the George Washington women's team claimed its fourth straight victory over the Mount, 14-7, yesterday.

The Colonials (1-1) scored six of the first eight goals and never trailed. Kristen Karcsh led George Washington with six goals.

Caitlin Carmen posted 11 saves for the Colonials while Jane Karger made 15 saves for Mount St. Mary's (0-1).

McDaniel 8, Elizabethtown 7 -- Shaena Smith (South Carroll) scored with three seconds left to lift the host Green Terror (1-0) over the Blue Jays (1-1). McDaniel's Chelsea Ferruzzi scored four of her game-high five goals during a 10-minute span to lift McDaniel out of a 6-3 hole with 4:30 left. Katie Foley scored four goals for Elizabethtown.

Goucher 14, Villa Julie 13 -- Sandy Okun scored the game-winner, her second goal, with 59 seconds left to lift the host Gophers (1-0, 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference) over the Mustangs (0-3, 0-3). Goucher's Kate Knitter led all scorers with five goals and Villa Julie's Brittany Connelly had four.
