What's the point?

Orioles first baseman Kevin Millar still is showing off the silver Porsche his wife gave him for Christmas. He says that he has gotten it up to 140 mph, but I can't really understand why anyone would pay six figures for a car that fast in a country where the highest legal speed limit is 80 mph.

I'll defer to comedian Jay Leno, an avid car collector who asked and answered a similar question during one of his Tonight Show monologues:

"It's like buying a thousand-dollar hooker to hold your hand."
