Rock Hall Expo

The lowdown -- There's more to the Rock Hall Expo than hunting and fishing. Weather permitting, pony rides and music will entertain guests between demonstrations and laps through the hunting and fishing displays. It's all a part of Rock Hall's Tricentennial Celebration.

If you go -- The expo runs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday in the Chesapeake Room at the Rock Hall Fire House, 21500 Rock Hall Ave., Rock Hall. Admission is $1 and will benefit the Rock Hall Fire Company. Call 410-639-7611 or go to

Icy dunk

The lowdown -- The ninth annual Maryland State Police Deep Creek Dunk makes a splash this weekend at Deep Creek Lake. Brave souls will take a dip in the icy waters to benefit Special Olympics Maryland athletes.

If you go -- Dunkers hit the water at 2 p.m. Saturday at Deep Creek Lake behind Uno Chicago Grill, 19746 Garrett Highway, Oakland. Registration is at noon. Admission is free for onlookers. Minimum donation is $50 to dunk. Call 410-789-6677 or go to

Trail Trek

The lowdown -- Discover Susquehanna State Park with volunteer guide Eugene Burg this weekend. Burg will lead fellow hikers on a Trail Trek, a four-mile hike through the park's fields and forests. Wear hiking gear. The Anita C. Leight Estuary Center is sponsoring the hike.

If you go -- Trail Trek runs 9 a.m.-about 1 p.m. Saturday at Susquehanna State Park, Lapidum Road, Havre de Grace. Adults and children age 10 and older may participate. Free admission, but reservations are required. Call 410-612-1688 or go to
