Michael J. Yarish, a materials handler and country music fan, died of a stroke Friday at Northwest Hospital Center. The Baldwin resident was 56.

Mr. Yarish was born in Baltimore and raised in Parkville and Dundalk. He graduated from Dundalk High School and attended Concordia College in Bronxville, N.Y.

Since 2003, he had worked as a materials handler at Solo Cup Co. in Reisterstown. Earlier, he had worked at Anchor Hocking Glass Co. and the old Maryland Glass Co.

He was especially fond of the music of the late Patsy Cline and was a member of her fan club.

He was a member of Long Green Baptist Church, 13010 Manor Road, where services will be held at 11 a.m. today.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Barbara Tillman; two sons, Daniel M. Yarish of Parkville and Matthew C. Yarish of College Park; his mother, Frances M. Haines of Fells Point; and a brother, Ronald M. Yarish of Baltimore.
