Roch Around The Clock

The Kickoff

More than one person has pointed out that Orioles camp is running more efficiently this year than last spring. At least some of the credit goes to Dave Trembley, the field coordinator/bullpen coach.

"He's very conscientious, stays on top of everybody," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "He's a good guy that, if I give 15 things to do, I can rest assured that 15 will get done. But it's just not him. The whole staff is chipping in. I think we all have a different mind-set this year, also. We feel like we're better. How much better, we don't know. We have some good veteran guys and we feel like we're a lot better team."

Meanwhile, reliever Scott Williamson, who spent time on the disabled list last season with tennis elbow and bone chips, said he hasn't felt this good in the past two or three years going into spring training. Then again, I've never known a player to say, "Man, I feel like crap. I shouldn't even be here." But the man is convincing. And he's not being held back in workouts.

"The key to me is to feel healthy," he said, "and I feel healthy."
