Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Central

Theft -- A man was standing at Read and Cathedral streets Saturday afternoon and talking on his cell phone when another man asked to use it. When the victim refused, the other man grabbed the cell phone and fled. The victim told police he followed the thief to a house in the 1500 block of Madison St., but could not find him inside.

Southeastern

Burglary -- Someone broke into Bob's Oldies Cafe in the 4000 block of Eastern Ave. over the weekend through a rear door and stole an undisclosed sum of money, two amplifiers, two cash registers and a recorder. The property was valued at $5,000.

Stabbing -- Two men were fighting outside a bar in the 3600 block of Bank St. about 12:15 a.m. Saturday when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the left arm. The 44-year-old victim, who reported the incident about two hours later, was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Burglary -- A laptop computer and a digital camera were stolen over the weekend from a house in the 1000 block of Baylis St. by someone who entered through a basement door. The items were valued at $1,100.

Theft -- A portable Global Positioning System device and a wallet were stolen Saturday from a 2005 Chrysler parked in the 900 block of S. Wolfe St.

Theft -- A car stereo system valued at $100 was stolen over the weekend from a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado in the 2800 block of Fleet St. by someone who entered after breaking a window.

Theft -- A purse, digital camera, cell phone and iPod were stolen Saturday from a 2006 Toyota Corolla parked on the lot of a bank in the 1600 block of Fleet St.

Northern

Assault -- Two men were arguing about a telephone bill outside their house in the 2300 block of Guilford Ave. on Saturday afternoon when one struck the other over the head with a shovel. The victim, 62, refused medical treatment. Police were seeking his assailant.

Stolen vehicle -- A blue 1994 Saturn station wagon with tags CBJ 598 was stolen over the weekend in the 3600 block of Elm Ave.

Robbery -- A deliveryman for Pizza Express was returning to his car in the 200 block of Melville Ave. about 10 p.m. Saturday when a man with a semiautomatic handgun robbed him of an undisclosed sum of money.

Western

Burglary -- Someone broke into P. Flanigan & Sons in the 1300 block of N. Monroe St. over the weekend after damaging safety window glass and disarming a burglar alarm bell and motion detector. The intruder fled with hand tools, clothing, keys and a cell phone - all valued at nearly $1,500.

Robbery -- A man was inside the 909 Club in the 900 block of N. Calhoun St. about 8 a.m. Saturday and was about to purchase beverages when a gunman robbed him of the keys to his 2005 Hyundai, a cell phone and his wallet containing $85. The gunman and two accomplices who stood nearby drove off in a Ford Expedition.

Arson -- A silver 2002 Mercedes Benz was parked outside its owner's home in the 2000 block of N. Bentalou St. about 2 a.m. Friday when someone used a flammable liquid to set the car on fire. Police believe the arson was a result of an argument the owner had earlier with a known male. Near the car, police found an empty red gasoline can.

Southern

Shooting -- A 29-year-old man was reported in good condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the head during an argument with another man about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of S. Payson St.

Bank robbery -- An apparently unarmed man robbed Bank of America in the 1000 block of Light St. of an undisclosed sum of money about 4:45 p.m. Friday after giving a teller a holdup note.

Theft -- A man entered Light Street Cycles in the 1000 block of Light St. about 4 p.m. Saturday and stole a jersey valued at $70.

Robbery -- A 31-year-old woman was about to enter her home in the 2700 block of Norland Ave. about 7 p.m. Saturday when she was stopped by a man who asked her for money. Before the woman could reply, the man stole her purse containing a small sum of money and fled.

Theft -- Security officers at Wal-Mart in the 2700 block of Port Covington Drive stopped a man about 4 p.m. Friday after he left without paying for merchandise valued at nearly $450. The man was given a citation, charging him with theft, and released after providing identification. Recovered were eight DVDs, three phone cards and other items.

Baltimore County

Wilkens

Robbery/arrests -- Two Baltimore men were arrested Friday evening inside a room at Beltway Motel in the 3600 block of Washington Blvd. and charged with the armed robbery of a guest there. About 5 p.m. Friday, two men, one armed with a knife, had forced their way into a room at the motel and robbed a 38-year-old man of nearly $800. Police tracked the suspects to another room, where they were arrested. Charged with armed robbery and assault and held on $200,000 bail each were James Young, 30, of the 1300 block of McCulloh St. and Christopher Bass, 24, of the 200 block of Lehman St.

Burglary -- Someone broke into Atec Holding Co. in the 5600 block of Baltimore National Pike about noon Saturday and stole a 32-inch plasma screen TV valued at $1,000.
