Two men dead in weekend shootings

A 26-year-old man was found fatally wounded yesterday afternoon in East Baltimore by police officers investigating gunshots, authorities said.

The victim, identified as David Frasier, whose address was not available, was found in the 1600 block of Branch Water Court about 1 p.m. and died minutes later at Johns Hopkins Hospital, said Officer Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman.

The shooting was the second reported in the city over the weekend, and police said they neither knew of a motive nor had a suspect in either case.

About 3 p.m. Saturday in Northwest Baltimore, officers responding to a report of gunshots found, George Baskerville, 28, wounded in the 3700 block of Oakmont Ave.

Baskerville, a resident of the 7300 block of Kathydale Road near Milford Mill, was rushed to Sinai Hospital. He was pronounced dead about 4 p.m., police said.

Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in either slaying.
