Gordon says violation `out of our control'

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A defensive Jeff Gordon stood outside his racing hauler yesterday morning, addressing questions about the latest rules violation in a week littered with controversy leading up to the start of the 2007 Nextel Cup season.

NASCAR officials deemed Gordon's car, which passed pre-race inspections, too low Thursday after he won the second qualifying race at Daytona International Speedway.
