Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Assault -- A 51-year-old man was removing groceries and a plastic bag containing live fish from his car near his home in the 2500 block of Eutaw Place about 8 p.m. Thursday when a man attempted to strike him with a hammer. When the victim blocked the blow with the bag containing the fish, he lost his balance and fell onto the icy pavement. No property or money was taken by the assailant, who drove off in a blue van. The victim was not injured.

Theft -- Police were seeking a man who entered First Line Inc. in the 200 block of W. Fayette St. about 6 p.m. Thursday and fled with a camera and video game equipment - all valued at $150.

Stolen vehicle -- A green 1997 Ford Expedition with tags M469964 was stolen Wednesday in the 100 block of Park Ave.


Burglary -- Someone broke into a convenience store in the 1900 block of Penrose Ave. through the roof Wednesday morning and stole $600 in cigarettes and cash.

Stolen vehicle -- A blue four-door 2005 Dodge Neon with tags 9AM J75 was stolen Wednesday in the 1300 block of N. Stricker St.

Robbery -- A 19-year-old man was walking in the 2000 block of Ridgehill Ave. about 8 p.m. Thursday when a man armed with a revolver told him, "Kick it out." The victim complied - giving up $25 to the robber.

Baltimore County


Shooting -- Police were seeking a known teenage male wanted for the shooting of a man outside the victim's apartment in the 6500 block of Falkirk Road Wednesday night. The victim, 40, stepped outside about 9:30 p.m. to order his son back into the apartment while the youth and the assailant were arguing. When the father turned to escort his son inside, the teenager allegedly pulled a handgun and shot the father in the upper body. The assailant escaped. Police said the father was taken to an area hospital and was expected to survive.

Stolen vehicle -- A purple 1996 Dodge Neon with tags KZV 174 was stolen in the 6500 block of Falkirk Road between Tuesday and Thursday. It was not known if the theft of the vehicle was related to the shooting Wednesday.


Burglary -- Someone broke into a storage locker in an apartment building in the first block of Townridge Court between Jan. 1 and Wednesday and stole an artificial Christmas tree and its decorations, a DVD player, VCR, fax machine, cordless telephone, tools, luggage and the lock to the locker. Total value of the property was $1,400.


Burglary -- Someone entered a barn in the 1300 block of Mount Carmel Road between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon, discharged a fire extinguisher throughout the building and poured some type of acid solution in a hot tub. The acid seriously damaged the bottom of the hot tub.
