Baltimore native worked in family's real-estate office

Margaret A. Hoen, who worked in her family's Ocean City real-estate business, died of breast cancer Tuesday at her son's Bishopville home. The former Loch Raven Village resident was 59.

Born Margaret A. Cholewczynski in Baltimore and raised in Highlandtown, she attended Sacred Heart of Jesus Parochial School and was a 1965 graduate of Catholic High School.

She married real estate developer Donald C. Hoen in 1968. They moved in 1979 to Ocean City, where Mrs. Hoen worked with her husband at Hoen Enterprises Inc. Mrs. Hoen was also a part-time sales associate at Hazel's Books in Ocean Plaza Mall from its 1983 opening until 2003. She also worked at Atlantic Books in Fenwick Island.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 600 S. Conkling St., where she was a former member.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Christopher D. Hoen of Bishopville; a daughter, Jennifer Hoen Dotson of New Market; her father, Henry S. Cholewczynski of Baltimore; three brothers, Henry Cholewczynski and Jerome Cholewczynski, both of Baltimore, and Charles Cholewczynski of Abingdon; and six grandchildren.
