The Fallston girls team used its depth to capture a third consecutive Harford County swimming championship last night at Magnolia Middle School.

The Cougars won five of the meet's 11 events. In addition, Fallston finished in the top three in nine events to compile 294 points, beating out North Harford (249).

"The girls just did an awesome job again," said Sheri Huppenthal, who coaches Fallston with Jeff DeHart. "From the kids that placed first to the kids that placed 12th, we needed them all."

Fallston will try to complete a third straight sweep in the boys championship tonight at 5:45. The Cougars have won three straight boys titles, but C. Milton Wright won the combined championship in the first year of that streak.

Sara Tillie won the 200 freestyle for Fallston (1:59.81) and the 100 freestyle (55.56), edging North Harford's Katie Kopajtic (55.83).

Fallston's Emily Wagner took the 200 individual medley (2:20.38) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.38). Both girls also swam on the school's victorious 400 freestyle relay (3:57.24).
