`Alain Corbel: Crow's Archipelago'

The children's books The Infernal Machine and Lazy Santa and the Reindeer Rodolfa are illustrated by the award-winning artist Alain Corbel. Works from both books will be on display at the Maryland Institute College of Art starting Tuesday.

A French native, Corbel studied at the St. Lukes School of Fine Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Corbel has received two Awards of Excellence for Illustrations from the Society for News Design and was a candidate for the 2006 Hans Christian Andersen Award. He is also the international artist-in-residence at MICA's department of illustration.

MICA hosts Alain Corbel: Crow's Archipelago from Tuesday-Feb. 25 in the Rosenberg Gallery at 1301 Mount Royal Ave. A gallery talk takes place Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. in the gallery, followed by a lecture at 4 p.m. in the Brown Center, Room 320, and a reception at 5:30 p.m. in the gallery.
