Amelia `Airheart'

The lowdown -- Airheart - a show that combines theater, sculpture and aerial stunts - delves into the life of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart today through Saturday. The one-woman show stars Mara Neimanis. An artist talk follows each performance.

Rare Pinter

The lowdown -- Beginning tomorrow, Rep Stage in Columbia is producing a pair of rarely staged short plays by 2005 Nobel Prize winner Harold Pinter under the title Two by Pinter: The Collection and The Lover. Studies of marriage, the plays are directed by Xerxes Mehta and designed by Elena Zlotescu, professors at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The cast includes Bill Largess, Bolton Marsh, Marni Penning, Timothy Andres Pabon, Nigel Reed and Peggy Yates.

Here's `Trouble'

The lowdown -- Trouble in Mind, Alice Childress' 1955 drama about a veteran black actress who risks losing her big break on Broadway when she challenges the thinking of her white director, begins performances at Center Stage tomorrow. Under Irene Lewis' direction, E. Faye Butler (Dinah Was, Ain't Misbehavin', Once on This Island) heads a cast that features such other Center Stage alums as Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Daren Kelly, LeRoy McClain and Laurence O'Dwyer. The period costumes are by two-time Tony Award winner Catherine Zuber.
