Father pleads guilty to sex abuse

A Severna Park real estate agent pleaded guilty yesterday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court to molesting his daughter and two other adolescent relatives.

The case attracted attention because after the man was charged last year, he was allowed to return home where his daughter lived.

Prosecutors said the man, who will be sentenced in March, fondled his daughter during a seven-year period and also molested the other girls, one a few years ago and the other about 15 years ago. The Sun is withholding his name to protect the victims' privacy.

The man was released yesterday after his plea before Judge Joseph P. Manck. He is under restrictions that bar him from being near his daughter.

In June, a court commissioner permitted the father, now 47, to be at home with his children only with supervision.

Two months later, alerted by neighbors that he was home and that DSS did not have case involving him, prosecutors sought greater pre-trial restrictions.
