Community activist Henry to run for 4th District City Council seat

January 28, 2007|By JOHN FRITZE

Bill Henry, director of commercial development for the Patterson Park Community Development Corp., announced yesterday that he will run for the City Council seat in the 4th District.

The decision comes just days before the current council member from that district, Kenneth N. Harris Sr., is expected to announce a run for citywide office.

Henry, 38, ran against Harris in the 2003 Democratic primary and is a longtime community activist and former aide to City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke. Henry is also a past president of the Greater Homewood Community Corp. and the Citizens Planning and Housing Association.
