Taxlo Superparty

The lowdown -- Wham City, a group of local artists, performers and musicians, invades Sonar tomorrow for the Taxlo Superparty. Expect choreographed madness in the form of theater, music and art. Taxlo regulars Simon D. Phoenix and Chris O will also spin. Some drinks are $1 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Guinness, Heineken and Corona are $3 all night.

The Heavycoats

The lowdown -- Electro-rockers the Heavycoats are back from hiatus and ready to debut some new material at an Ottobar show Saturday. Girlfriend in a Coma, a Smiths and Morrissey tribute band, headlines, and DJ Matt Walter will spin classic Britpop. Rails, drafts and Natty Bohs are $2 until 10 p.m.

Brett Dennen

The lowdown -- Folk rock singer/songwriter Brett Dennen comes to Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis on Wednesday. Encouraged by heavy radio rotation of the song "Desert Sunrise," he released a self-titled debut album in mid-2005. His sophomore CD, So Much More, came out in November. His youthful voice, sparse guitar picking and laid-back acoustic grooves have drawn in fans from both the G. Love and Bob Dylan camps.
