St. Andrew's to hold Saturday yard sale

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 4 Wallace Manor Road in Edgewater, will hold its weekly indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow.

Spaces are $10 for a 10-by-10-foot space and $5 for tables.

Tables are first-come, first-served.

Youth group plans Jamaica-style event

The Our Shepherd Youth Group will hold a Jamaican Me Crazy Winter Beach Party at 6 p.m. tomorrow at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road in Severna Park.

This event will offer Jamaican-inspired food and drink, calypso dancing, a limbo contest and music by the Old Mill Steel Drum Band. Proceeds will benefit the band.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for younger children.

Kol Ami to present Middle East lecture

The Congregation Kol Ami Israel Affairs Committee will present Dr. Mitchell G. Bard at 3 p.m. Sunday at 1909 Hidden Meadow Lane in Annapolis.

Dr. Bard will lecture on "Is Peace Even Possible: Israel and the Palestinian in Today's Middle East."

Church to present jazz concert Sunday

The J.J. Wright Trio will present an evening of new jazz standards in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena.

Pianist J.J. Wright, bassist Max Murray, drummer Joseph McCarthy and guest alto saxophonist Cameron Collins will perform tunes by Bill Frisell, Jim Hall and Steve Swallow.

The program is part of the Galilee Fine Arts Series, monthly concerts hosted by the church as a service to the community. There is no admission charge, but a free-will donation will be gathered.

Pasadena church will hold blood drive

Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Highway, will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday .

Women's group plans basket bingo

Community of Christian Women Inc. will sponsor basket bingo at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 410 E. Jeffrey St. in Brooklyn.

More than 20 games and three raffles will be included, and food will be sold.

Proceeds will benefit the group's Women's Faith Retreat in March.

The cost is $18. Doors will open at 1 p.m. Advance ticket purchases will be discounted.

Knights of Columbus to present awards

Our Lady of the Chesapeake Knights of Columbus Council 10881 will host its annual awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Gathering Place at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church, 8325 Ventnor Road in Pasadena.

A law enforcement officer, a firefighter, an emergency medical technician, a teacher, a family and a knight of the year will be recognized, followed by a brief reception.

Galilee Lutheran to hold Bible class

Bible 101 will be held at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 28 at Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

This six-session class will be taught by Tim Merritt. All materials will be provided.
