Rashida Suber scored 28 points, as the visiting Coppin State women routed Norfolk State, 89-61, yesterday for their 34th straight victory over a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent.

After trailing by three points at halftime, the Lady Eagles (9-6, 4-0) scored 59 points in the second half. Norfolk State (3-12, 2-3) committed 22 turnovers, and Coppin State scored 34 points off those turnovers. Tamika Noel scored 19 and Shalamar Oakley added 15.

Suber scored on back-to-back fast-break layups, the second putting the Lady Eagles up 67-53 with 7:05 left in the game. A jumper by Danielle Anders with 18 seconds left and a free throw by Chanelle Downing just before the buzzer ended the scoring for the Lady Eagles.

Coppin State shot 55.4 percent for the game and out-rebounded the Spartans 35-33.

Morgan State 65, Hampton 61 -- For the first time in school history, the Lady Bears (7-6, 2-2 MEAC) won at the Hampton University Convocation Center, defeating the host Lady Pirates (7-7, 3-2) in overtime. Corin Adams led Morgan State with 20 points and hit an uncontested jumper in overtime to seal the win.

UMES 62, Winston-Salem State 49 -- The Lady Hawks (6-10, 1-2 MEAC) used a strong second half to defeat the host Lady Rams (4-17). Aprille McBride's 19 points and 10 rebounds helped UMES score 34 points in the second half to win comfortably. McBride was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

UMBC 60, Binghamton 50 -- Amanda Robinson's 19 points and eight rebounds led the host Retrievers (9-8, 2-2 America East) over the Bearcats (5-11, 1-2). After Binghamton cut the lead to 56-50 with 40 seconds remaining, UMBC scored four straight points.

Navy 55, Lafayette 43 -- The host Midshipmen (7-9, 2-1 Patriot League) held off Leopards (3-14, 1-2) with a strong second half. Margaret Knap scored a 12 of her 20 points in the second half. The Mids used a 16-2 run to take a 19-7 lead with four minutes remaining before halftime. Knap hit a three-pointer to give Navy a 46-31 lead with 4:55 left.

Villa Julie 69, Keystone 45 -- Tanisha Foster scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the host Mustangs (7-5, 3-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference) beat the Giants (2-11, 0-4). Cara Hill added 14.

Frostburg State 73, Hilbert 52 -- Tonya Handy (18 points, 14 rebounds) led three Bobcats (6-6, 4-2 Allegheny Mountain) in double-digit scoring over the visiting Hawks (1-11, 1-5).
