January 11, 2007|By Childs Walker | Childs Walker,SUN REPORTER

Cal Ripken fans who want to see his Hall of Fame induction on July 29 should make travel plans soon because available lodging around Cooperstown, N.Y., is diminishing rapidly, according to the small town's Chamber of Commerce.

Most of the motels near the town are already booked for the weekend, and so are many of the smaller inns and bed and breakfasts. The chamber keeps an updated list of available lodging on its Web site at Cooperstownchamber.org. As of yesterday, the Hampton Inn and six bed and breakfasts (prices ranging from $175 a night to $2,000 a night for a group of 10) had available rooms.

Coming Sunday There's more to do in Cooperstown than just visit the Hall of Fame. Travel Section
