Tax-cut panel meeting today

A citizens task force charged with examining possible changes to a law that gives older Howard County homeowners a substantial property-tax cut will hold its first meeting at 2 p.m. today in the Tyson Room of the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City.

The committee will consider the size of the tax cut and the income limit for eligibility. It will report back to the County Council by mid-February, and issue a final report in November.

Delegation to hold hearing on '07 bills

The Howard County delegation to the General Assembly will hold a hearing on proposed 2007 local bills at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building.

The hearing will be televised live on Gtv.

Lerner to address Vision lecture series

General Growth Properties and Howard Community College will present a talk by Adam Lerner, executive director of the Laboratory of Art and Ideas at Belmar, in Lakewood, Colo., at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the college's Smith Theatre, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.

The talk is the last in the lecture series Voices of Vision, an open forum with experts on urban planning and design and their impact on the future of Columbia and Howard County.
