Carroll County: I-70 crash

Pa. driver killed when car hits tree

A 46-year-old Pennsylvania woman was killed late Friday night on Interstate 70 in Carroll County when her car struck a tree, state police said.

Christene A. Calvert of Beaver Falls, Pa., was pronounced dead at the scene after losing control of her 1994 Lincoln while traveling eastbound on I-70 just west of the Howard County line about 11 p.m.

Two passengers, Vicki Farrow, 50, and Cassandra Clark, 18, also from Pennsylvania, were transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where they were listed in critical but stable condition, police said yesterday.

Police were investigating the cause of the crash.

Baltimore County: Pulaski Highway

Motorcycle driver, passenger are killed

A motorcycle driver and passenger were killed yesterday evening in Baltimore County when their vehicle collided with a car on Pulaski Highway near Martin Boulevard, a county police spokesman said.

Both died at the scene. Police did not release their names.

The driver of the car did not suffer serious injuries, police said.

Caves Road

Bicyclists find body of woman

Two bicyclists discovered a woman's body yesterday morning in the 2500 block of Caves Road, a Baltimore County police spokesman said. Police had not identified the victim or determined a cause of death. No other details were available last night.

Arbutus

Truck crash closes southbound I-95

A tractor-trailer filled with canned fruit overturned and spilled its cargo onto southbound Interstate 95 in Arbutus about 5 a.m. yesterday, closing some lanes for nearly six hours, police said.
