John Lantz is dying to use his skis, but December was the fourth-mildest in the past 35 years at BWI, with no measurable snow. So he wants to know how much snowfall occurred after the mildest three Decembers - in 1984, 1971 and 1994. "Do I need to pack up my skis?" he asks. Not yet. Baltimore saw almost no snow in the three Januaries that followed the mildest Decembers. But February brought above-average snow in 1985 (7.5 inches) and 1995 (9.1 inches).
