W. Jay Breitenbach

Breitenbach owns FORCE Real Estate Appraisal and Consulting.

He was sworn in Tuesday as a state delegate in District 31, a job he will hold for 15 days. He is holding the seat vacated by John R. Leopold, who was elected Anne Arundel County executive. Leopold asked that Breitenbach take his place until the district's delegation, which includes two new delegates, is sworn in Jan. 10.

From 1995 to 1999, Breitenbach served on the Anne Arundel County Board of Appeals, which deals primarily with land use and zoning cases. He also worked from 1990 to 1994 in the land acquisition division of the county's Public Works Department, and from 2002 to 2005 in the real estate office of the county's Central Services Department.

Breitenbach, 40, lives in Severna Park with his wife, Brenda. They have five children. He graduated from Chesapeake High School in Pasadena and has business management degrees from Anne Arundel Community College and University of Maryland University College.
