Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Baltimore

Southwestern

Arrest -- Timothy Izzard, 49, was arrested Tuesday at his home in the 3000 block of W. Lanvale St. by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on charges of first-degree murder. Izzard is accused in the fatal stabbing of Freddie Thornton, 69, of the 2800 block of Winchester St., whose body was found Saturday - apparently dumped in Leakin Park. Izzard was being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Arrest -- Steven Carr, 38, who was being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center in an unrelated case, was charged Monday with assaulting a man with a brick Dec. 6 in the 2000 block of N. Hilton St. and robbing him of his wallet and cash.

Western

Shooting -- An unidentified man was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the head by an unknown assailant in the 2100 block of W. Fairmount Ave. about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Eastern

Shooting -- Police were seeking a gunman who shot a 25-year-old man in the leg as they walked together in the 2400 block of E. North Ave. about 1 a.m. Monday. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Northeastern

Shooting -- A 51-year-old man was walking in the 1600 block of Abbotston St. about 2 p.m. Tuesday when someone fired a shot that struck him in a leg. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southern

Burglary -- Property valued at $2,000 was stolen Monday from a house in the 100 block of Clement St.

Baltimore County

Parkville

Burglaries -- Two homes in the first block of W. Elm Ave. were broken into Tuesday. From one house, an intruder stole jewelry valued at $3,200. Police believe the same burglar entered the other house and stole coins and a laptop computer - all valued at $1,300.

Cockeysville

Burglary -- Power tools of unknown value were stolen from Gavrelis & Associates in the 21300 block of York Road between Dec. 21 and Tuesday.

Franklin

Burglary -- Two catalytic converters were stolen Friday from Treasured Motorcar Services in the 12300 block of Owings Mills Blvd. The burglary was reported Tuesday.
