Show passes for 2007

The lowdown -- See some great live bands and enter to win big tomorrow night at the Ottobar. The Payola Reserve, the Seldon Plan, Private Eleanor, These United States and Vandaveer will perform. Drafts, rails and Natty Bohs are $2 until 10 p.m. Folks at the venue will give away 20 passes that are good for every show in 2007.

Reliving Hendrix

The lowdown -- Tomorrow night, local guitarist Carl Filipiak puts his jazz rig away and picks up his Stratocaster for a Jimi Hendrix tribute at the 8x10. At a recent tribute show, his trio raged through Are You Experienced. Close your eyes, and it could be '67.

Carbon Leaf at Rams Head

The lowdown -- Carbon Leaf kicked off a four-day run of shows at Rams Head in Annapolis yesterday. The five-piece folk rock band has a loyal following and is best known for its songs "The Boxer" and "Life Less Ordinary." Its newest album, Love, Loss, Hope, Repeat, came out in September.
