`Light' at the BMA

Meditations on African Art: Light, a new exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Art, features both ancient and contemporary works. They include a Fante gold staff, Egyptian alabaster treasures, a painting made of beads by Jimoh Buraimoh and other pieces from the museum's collection of African art. The exhibit runs through April 1. The museum is at 10 Art Museum Drive. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. It will be closed Monday.
