Put on your party hat and get ready to blow that noisemaker. There's lots to do in and around the city this New Year's Eve. Here are some of the bars, clubs and other venues offering festive events for singles, couples and families who haven't yet made end-of-the-year plans:

Bars and clubs

Local jazz funksters Written Prisms open for jammers the Bridge at the 8x10. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the music goes "as late as it takes," according to co-owner Brian Shupe. Tickets are $39 in advance and $49 at the door. Munch on finger foods and slurp down a champagne toast at midnight. The venue is at 8-10 E. Cross St. Call 410-625-2000 or go to the8x10.com.

Though Babalu Grill's restaurant might be booked for dinner by today, its club will be open 11 p.m.-2:30 a.m. The cover is $25 per person, or free if you dine there after 9 p.m. Club drink specials are two-for-one mojitos and margaritas midnight-2 a.m. There is also a complimentary champagne toast. The Baltimore Comedy Factory hosts Todd Rexx (also known as T-Rexx), who has appeared on the Tonight Show and Def Comedy Jam. He recently released an album, Bigger and Beiger. Shows are at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. and last about an hour and a half. Tickets are $20. There is also a two-drink minimum. The venue is above Burke's Restaurant at Light and Lombard streets. This year, Big Night Baltimore is at the Wyndham Inner Harbor Hotel. It features multiple premium open bars, a light-fare menu and a number of live bands. Fools and Horses, the Kelly Bell Band, Mr. Greengenes and DJ Kode Bleuu will perform. The event is 21 and older only. As of late last week, tickets were $129.99 per person or $199.99 for VIP. Four area bands, Agents of the Sun, Eleven: 54, Lennex and Tears of Mars, play Fletcher's. There's a free champagne toast at midnight and DJs spinning downstairs. Gordon's Lounge, at 1818 Maryland Ave., will have an open bar 8 p.m.-4 a.m. with a champagne toast at midnight, a complimentary dinner buffet and continental breakfast served at 2 a.m. All three floors will be open for partying. Tickets are $85 for the Hard Rock Cafe's celebrations. That will get you a top-shelf open bar 9 p.m.-2 a.m., light-fare buffet, champagne toast and party favors. Rock 'n' roll cover band BiggerBetterFasterMore will perform. The cafe is at 601 E. Pratt St. Call 410-347-7625 or go to hardrock.com.

Most, if not all, of the tables at Howl at the Moon have been booked, but you can still get in for $50, which includes an open bar 8 p.m.-midnight and a champagne toast. 22 Market Place. Call 410-783-5111 or go to howlatthemoon.com.

Most of the reservations for tables at James Joyce Irish Pub and Restaurant were booked as of last week, but you can still hang out in the bar. There is no cover. The bar is close to the Inner Harbor, and it empties out briefly for the fireworks. Then its patrons come streaming back in and party late. Latin Palace revels in South American culture with festival ladies in costumes from Latin American countries and DJ Jovi. The palace has six bars, a cigar lounge and three dance floors. Tickets are $15 for dancing, a champagne toast and party favors, and $30 if you also want dinner and breakfast. It's at 509 S. Broadway. Little Havana's New Year's Eve party is 8 p.m.-2 a.m. and includes an open bar, buffet, midnight breakfast, live entertainment and a great view of the Inner Harbor fireworks show.
