Pasadena man lying in road fatally injured

A Pasadena man was fatally injured yesterday evening when he was run over by a car while lying in the center of the road near his home, Anne Arundel County police said.

The victim, Michael Anthony Tyler, 49, of the 8300 block of Beechwood Park Road, was in the center of Beechwood Park Road near Magothy Bridge Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. when he was run over by a 1993 Lexus driven by Brandon Drew Carmody, 32, of the 1300 block of River Bank Court in Curtis Bay.

Tyler was pronounced dead a short time later at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie. Police said the use of alcohol by Tyler contributed to the accident.

Police identify accident victim

A pedestrian who was fatally injured Sunday evening when he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a major intersection in Essex was identified yesterday by Baltimore County police as 50-year-old Anthony W. Pritchett. Police said Pritchett, of the 13100 block of Sylvan Ave. in the Harewood community of eastern Baltimore County, was crossing Eastern Boulevard near Old Eastern Avenue about 6 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck heading west on Eastern Boulevard and driven by Patrick Bartholow, 42, of Cutter Cove Court in Middle River's Seneca Pointe. Police said pedestrian error contributed to the accident.

Baltimore: Doll show

Kids encouraged to be enter contest

The 66th annual Doll Show is set for noon today at the Dominic "Mimi" DiPietro Family Skating Center, 200 S. Linwood Ave. Children ages 14 and younger are encouraged to enter the contest, competing for prizes in the categories of foreign, most unusual, antique, character, infant, best-dressed, best-stuffed and action figure.
