Banking and finance

Northwest Savings Bank has selected William W. West as president of its Maryland region. He is responsible for strategic growth and development of the bank's offices.

Bay First Bank, which serves Harford and Cecil counties, announced that Mary Ann Bogarty has joined the bank as vice president and relationship manager. She has responsibility for the establishment of banking relationships with businesses and consumers in the northeast Maryland counties.

FOR THE RECORD - An item in yesterday's Business section contained incomplete information. SunTrust Bank named Mathew Alfred and Maria F. Lebow as assistant vice presidents.

SunTrust Bank Maryland appointed Karen Meek as a vice president in its retail division. The regional bank also named Mathew Alfred as a banking officer in the business banking unit and Maria F. Lebow as assistant branch manager in Glen Burnie.

M&T Bank announced the appointment of Loretta Warfield-Davis as an assistant vice president and manager of the Belvedere branch. The bank also named Alan Hicks as a Baltimore-area sales manager for its residential mortgage business.

Legal and insurance

Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz PA announced that Lauren Snyder, a law graduate of the New York Law School, joined the business services department of the Towson-based law firm.

On the board

McCormick & Co. Inc. announced that Michael D. Mangan, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Black & Decker, has been appointed to the board of the Sparks-based international spice company.

Professional services

The Maryland Athletic Club & Wellness Center has chosen Sharon Nevins, marketing, and Dawn Harman, sales, as vice presidents of the Timonium-based health and fitness facility.
