Charles Daniels' home on East Durham Road in Columbia is awash with a display of more than 125,000 lights. Daniels, a retired accounts manager for a lottery systems corporation, says he is aiming for 200,000 lights next year. He says he hopes to inherit the local display title held by fellow Columbia resident Butch Colby, who decked his home for the holidays for 25 years. Colby, who put his property up for sale to move to a retirement community, did not decorate this year.
