GOTTA HAVE A SOCK MONKEY

They're ridiculously cute. A bit odd. And terribly creative. And you want one. You can't explain why. But you want a sock monkey. Well, my friend, go to the American Visionary Art Museum on Saturday and make your own little ape at "Sock Monkey Saturday." Bring two pairs of clean socks and you'll be provided with the rest: instruction, stuffing, sewing needles, thread and baubles. After it's made, keep it or gift it. Right, never mind.

.......................

"Sock Monkey Saturday" will run 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the American Visionary Art Museum, second-floor classrooms, Jim Rouse Visionary Center, 800 Key Highway. Call 410-244-1900 or go to avam.org.
