The skinny on local clubs

Kiss Cafe

Though Kiss Cafe is also a restaurant, a good chunk of its regulars use the cafe for its lounging space. They log onto the free wireless Internet while sipping coffee, tea or alcohol and snacking.

Where -- The Can Company, 2400 Boston St.

Call -- 410-327-9889

Notable -- Though there are no drafts, the cafe has a number of bottled beers and a decent mixed-drink list. The bar downstairs is made of synthetic marble foam, with a bunch of multicolored chips mixed in. There are also two pool tables upstairs.

Vibe -- It's a warm respite from a cold winter day.

Crowd -- Almost exclusively Cantonites and young professionals.

What to wear -- During the day, anything goes. You could see people dressed in suits, business casual wear or sweat pants. At dinnertime, you usually see people wearing nicer clothes.
