Mary F. `Marie' Freeburger, 81

Former Rosedale resident worked for oil companies from 1960 to 1985

Mary F. "Marie" Freeburger, a retired office worker and former Rosedale resident, died of heart failure Dec. 11 at a hospital in Victorville, Calif. She was 81.

Born Mary Filip and raised in Baltimore, she was a graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame.

In 1960, she joined the accounting department of Cities Service Oil Co. and later worked for American Oil Co. in the Blaustein Building. She retired in 1985.

She lived on Madeira Street for 40 years before moving to Rosedale in 1985. Since 2000, she had lived in Victorville.

Mrs. Freeburger enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to Las Vegas to play slot machines, family members said.

Her husband of 49 years, John F. Freeburger, a retired Bethlehem Steel shipyard worker, died in May.

No funeral is planned.

Surviving are a daughter, Paulette S. Thomas of Silver Lakes, Calif., and a grandson.
