Coming up / / at High Point on Friday (7 p.m.).

Comment / / The up-and-down Greyhounds do well when they share the ball and get four scorers in double figures. Friday will mark the debut of 6-foot-8 junior Omari Isreal, a transfer from Notre Dame.

Maryland (10-2, 0-1)

Coming up / / American at Comcast Center on Saturday (1 p.m.).

Comment / / Mike Jones is shooting 45.7 percent from three-point range after last week's 9-for-13 record-breaker. Gary Williams got his first head coaching job at American, which is 7-3 under Jeff Jones.

Morgan State (1-6, 1-0)

Coming up / / East Carolina today at Hill Field House (7 p.m.); at La Salle on Wednesday (7 p.m.); at No. 20 Marquette on Friday (8:30 p.m.).

Comment / / Freshman Reggie Holmes has made 44.7 percent of his three-pointers for the busy Bears, who have winnable games over teams from Conference USA and the Atlantic 10 before they go to Milwaukee.

Mount St. Mary's (2-7, 1-0)

Coming up / / at Winthrop today (7 p.m.); at Lafayette on Friday (7 p.m.).

Comment / / The Mountaineers played well at North Carolina State but were awarded just seven free throws. They have to recover quickly against Winthrop, the class of the Big South Conference.

Navy (8-3)

Coming up / /Washington College at Alumni Hall on Wednesday (7 p.m.); Georgetown at Verizon Center on Saturday (1 p.m.).

Comment / / The Midshipmen aren't going far, but they're all over the basketball map. In the span of four days, they go from Division III to the Big East Conference.

Towson (5-4, 1-0)

Coming up / / Georgetown at Verizon Center on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.).

Comment / / Gary Neal and the perimeter players went 3-for-21 from three-point range and squandered an opportunity to knock off Temple. Dennard Abraham and Winstonn Tubbs will have their hands full with Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green.

UMBC (4-7)

Coming up / / at William & Mary on Friday (7 p.m.).

Comment / / Williamsburg should be a more inviting destination for the Retrievers, who were never in it at George Washington and without Brian Hodges (one-game suspension) and Jay Greene (knee) at Marquette.

UMES (1-6, 0-1)

Coming up / / at Kansas State tomorrow (8 p.m.); Kennesaw State on Friday (5:30 p.m.) and either Charleston Southern or Longwood on Saturday (3 or 5:30), both in Las Vegas.

Comment / / Jesse Brooks, a sophomore point guard out of Archbishop Spalding, leads the Hawks in scoring and assists. Larry Lessett's team began a long, hard week at No. 8 Wichita State yesterday.
