BALTIMORE COUNTY COUNCIL -- The Baltimore County Council will meet in legislative session at 7 p.m. in council chambers on the second floor at the County Courthouse, 400 Washington Ave., Towson. A vote is scheduled on proposed restrictions on political signs.


HANUKKAH FESTIVAL -- The Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center will hold its Hanukkah Festival from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The free event, which will include the lighting of a menorah, music and dreidel games, will be at the center, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., Owings Mills. 410-356-5200 or

BALTIMORE COUNTY SCHOOLS -- The Baltimore County Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 6901 Charles St., Towson. Among items on the agenda is a report on the proposed five-year capital budget request. 410-887-4126.


ANNE ARUNDEL SCHOOLS -- The Anne Arundel County Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. at 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. The board is expected to decide on improvements to Severna Park Middle School.


CONCERT AT LIBRARY -- The Bel Air branch of the Harford County Public Library will present a performance by the Maryland Conservatory of Music at 7 p.m. at 100 E. Pennsylvania Ave. 410-638-3151, Ext. 334.


WINTER HIKE -- Jug Bay Environmental Sanctuary will offer a winter solstice hike from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1361 Wrighton Road, Lothian. Participants will hike through the woods and watch the sunset. DANCE CONCERT -- Howard Community College will present a dance concert, Works in Progress, at 8 p.m. in the college's Smith Theatre, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. Admission is free. 410-772-4800.

MUSIC AT THE MALL -- Mondawmin Mall will present the last in its series of free Saturday afternoon holiday concerts at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The mall is at 2401 Liberty Heights Ave.


FARMERS' MARKET -- The Baltimore Farmers' Market will be open for the last time this season beginning at 8 a.m. at Holliday and Saratoga streets. It will reopen in May. 877-BALTIMORE or
