National Christmas Tree
Majestic and radiant, the National Christmas Tree is a holiday sight to see. Situated on the Ellipse across from the South Lawn of the White House, the 41-foot-high Colorado blue spruce is aglow nightly through Jan. 1. Accompanying the mighty and luminous tree are 56 smaller, decorated trees, as part of the annual Pathway of Peace display. The 56 trees represent the 50 states, five U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Each tree's ornaments and decorations were designed to represent its respective area.
