Workshop to focus on funding sources

The Maryland Small Business Development Center and the Howard County Economic Development Authority's Center for Business and Technology Development will sponsor a workshop on obtaining adequate funding for small businesses, "Sources of Capital and Alternative Financing for Small Business Start-Up Expansion."

Topics include bank financing and lines of credit, Small Business Administration loan programs, contract financing, asset lending, factoring, lease financing, credit card receipts and other topics.

The workshop will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 15 at the Center for Business and Technology Development, 9250 Bendix Road, Columbia. The cost is $50. Registration is required.

Chamber offers membership class

The Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce will offer a free Membership 101 class from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the chamber office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

The class will cover networking techniques and resources to grow business, find new clients and save time in networking judiciously.
