KATHRYN WARD KURAD FULLER of Hickory died Dec. 10 at the Lutheran Home Hickory East in Hickory. She was born September 14, 1909 in Matthews County, Virginia to the late Isaac and Nettie Rowe Ward. Ms. Fuller lived in Baltimore, MD, where she worked her entire career in the banking industry until moving to Hickory, NC in 1993. She resided at Kingston Manor until moving to The Lutheran Home in February 2002. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church in the Roland Park area of Baltimore, MD and joined St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Hickory. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Max Kurad, her second husband, Allen K. Fuller, five sisters, her stepdaughter, Mary Lou Appel, and step grandson, Charles Craig. Ms. Fuller is survived by her son, J. Ward Kurad and his wife Martha Trotter Kurad of Hickory, her stepson, Wayne Fuller and his wife Sue, a step daughter Nancy McDade, two sisters, Inez Smith and Madelyn Smith, five grandchildren; Karen McCain Alford of Mobile, AL, Stephen Ward Kurad of Charlotte, NC, Suzanne Gardiner McLemore of Denver, CO, seven great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild. The funeral service will be held at 1st Christian Church in Roland Park area of Baltimore, MD, on December 15th at 11:00 am and will be conducted by the Rev. David Caldwell. Interment will follow at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to: Lutheran Home Hickory East, 1265 21st St., NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or 1st Christian Church, 5802 Roland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21260. Bass-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Fuller family in Hickory. Ruck Towson Funeral Home is serving the Fuller family in Baltimore, MD.
