On Friday, December 8, 2006, RICHARD F. BARNARD, 60, of Severna Park. The son of the late Thomas A., and Monica L. Barnard. Mr. Bernard was born March 7, 1946 in Portsmouth, VA. He graduated from Churchland High School in Portsmouth and Milligan College, TN. He served as 1st. Lieutenant in the Army and was stationed in Seoul, South Korea. He began his banking career as a commercial loan officer for First Virginia Bank in Virginia Beach and later served as Regional Vice President for First National Bank of Maryland. He most recently developed and managed Back Creek Cafe at Bert Jabin's Yacht Yard, Inc., in Annapolis. Foremost in his life, was his family. He enjoyed his river home in VA., boating, fishing and news of the business world. He served on the Board of Chesapeake Academy for seven years and was Chairman from 2001 to 2003. He was also a Boy Scout Volunteer with Troop 855, St. Martin's in the Field, Severna Park. He is survived by his wife the former Sharon M. DeBernard, son Matthew, (20), a brother, Thomas A. Barnard, Jr., (Charla) of Gloucester, VA, and a sister, Frances B. Duman (Michael) of Suffolk, VA. A memorial service is planned for 2 P.M., Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Severn School, 201 Water Street, Severna Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Thomas A. Barnard, Sr., Scholarship Fund, at Milligan College, TN, 37682.
