JAZZ AMBASSADORS -- The Performing Arts Association of Linthicum will present the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors at 8 p.m. at Chesapeake Arts Center, 194 Hammonds Lane, Brooklyn Park. CITY SCHOOL BOARD -- The Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at school system headquarters, 200 E. North Ave. The board is scheduled to vote on 13 applications from groups wanting to open charter schools. 410-396-8709.


GENEALOGY RESEARCH -- The Howard County Genealogical Society will sponsor a talk by Ann and Frank Herron on "Italian Genealogy Research, at Home and Abroad," at 7 p.m. at the Ellicott City Senior Center, 9401 Frederick Road. COLUMBIA DEVELOPMENT -- Robert W. Burchell of Rutgers University, a co-director of the Center for Urban Policy Research, will speak at 7 p.m. at Howard Community College's Smith Theatre, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.
