Holiday workshop offered for children

Westminster City Recreation will hold a Winter Holiday Workshop for children in kindergarten through eighth grade from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26-29 at the Longwell Municipal Center on Longwell Avenue.

Children need to take a bag lunch and drink, and dress to get messy. A variety of activities will be offered.

The cost is $20 per child per day.

Before and after care from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., will be available for $5 each ($10 for both). Children can attend as many days as they want. Registration and emergency information are required.

Pilates classes slated for Mondays

Freedom Fitness of Eldersburg is offering a Pilates class at 4 p.m. Mondays starting Jan. 8 at the studio in Carrolltown Center.

This whole-body program focuses on core strengthening for abdominal and low back muscles.

Another class is held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays.

The cost is $66 for six weeks.

Fitness class focuses on youths

Freedom Fitness of Eldersburg is offering a new "Fitness for Life" youth class at 11 a.m. Saturdays at the studio next to Kmart at Carrolltown Center.

The program is designed to help teens feel energized, and gain strength and self-confidence. They will play fitness games, dance and do more.

The class is appropriate for grades six to eight and is limited to 12.

The six-week class starts Jan. 20 and costs $69.
