Partners in Care needs drivers

Partners in Care seeks volunteers to help transport seniors to appointments and to help with domestic needs. Drivers earn volunteer credits and may receive reimbursement for mileage. Orientation will be provided at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday and Jan. 18 at 348 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Registration is suggested.

Sponsors sought for the holidays

The Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services seeks volunteers to provide Christmas meals and gifts for low-income families. Individuals can sponsor a family or a senior citizen or make a donation.

Lodge seeks help with rehab program

The Arundel Lodge seeks volunteers to assist with its residential and day psychiatric rehabilitation program for people with mental illness. Volunteers are needed to teach life skills, play board and card games, walk with patients, assist with social and recreational activities, and to serve as Korean and Taiwanese interpreters.

The Arundel Lodge also seeks volunteers the evening of Dec. 21 for its Christmas party for clients.

Firefighters, EMS technicians sought

The Arnold Volunteer Fire Department seeks volunteers older than 16 to become firefighters and emergency medical technicians. Training and uniforms will be provided. Interested participants should sign up at their local volunteer fire company.

Bello Machre has opportunities

Bello Machre of Pasadena seeks volunteers to assist with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Volunteers will teach life skills, help with educational activities and mass mailing projects, and chaperone field trips.

Tutors help middle, high school students

The Advancement Via Individual Determination program seeks tutors for middle and high school students. Volunteers must be at least age 18 and willing to commit to one semester of tutoring at one of the AVID sites for a minimum of one 30- to 40-minute session a week during school hours. Training will be provided at the Care Staff Development Training Center in Gambrills from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 18. Registration is required.

Trucks, vans needed to deliver food

Food Link seeks volunteers with trucks and vans to pick up food from distribution centers and restaurants and deliver it to food pantries, shelters and other locations that serve those in need throughout the county.

The South County Assistance Network seeks volunteers to stock shelves, bag and donate food and assist with other community emergency needs from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays and Saturdays.
