Roch Around the Clock

It amuses me how a story in today's San Francisco Chronicle quotes various general managers saying they're not interested in signing Barry Bonds, but Orioles executives, who basically have been making the same statements for months, aren't included in the bunch. Instead, a "source" tells the paper that the Orioles have discussed Bonds in recent days.

That would be quite a reversal, considering that only last week, the idea of Bonds' coming here was again dismissed, with the Orioles insisting they weren't going in that direction.

It's a little early for panic to be setting in - the same kind that made them sign Albert Belle and trade for Sammy Sosa.
