CARDINAL TO SPEAK -- Cardinal William H. Keeler, leader of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, will speak on bridging the gap between religions at 7 p.m. at Har Sinai Congregation, 2905 Walnut Ave., Owings Mills. Admission is free but call 410-654-9393 for reservations.


BALTIMORE COUNTY SCHOOLS -- The Baltimore County School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Education Support Services Building, 6901 Charles St., Towson. Items on the agenda include proposed changes to the food services policy. 410-887-4126.


CELEBRATING KWANZAA -- A presentation on "Celebrating Kwanzaa" will be given at 6 p.m. at the Brooklyn branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, 300 E. Patapsco Ave. The program will be offered at other Pratt library branches throughout December. 410-396-5430 or


MONUMENT LIGHTING -- The annual Washington Monument lighting ceremony on Baltimore's Mount Vernon Place will begin at 6 p.m. and will include live entertainment, refreshments and a fireworks finale. 877-BALTIMORE.

ANNAPOLIS OPEN HOUSE -- Annapolis Mayor Ellen O. Moyer will hold her annual holiday open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Market House at City Dock.


ENGINE DEDICATION -- The New Windsor Fire Company will hold an open house and dedicate a new fire engine at 6:30 p.m. at the fire station, 101 High St., New Windsor. 410-635-6373.
