Irish Christmas

If the idea of an Irish Christmas sounds like good craic to ye (a good time to you), then consider a visit to the National Geographic Society in Washington on Thursday or Friday. The society presents the lively concert An Irish Christmas in America, featuring the traditional Irish folk band Teada. Lead vocalist Cathie Ryan, Irish harpist Grainne Hambly, uilleann pipes player Tommy Martin and other artists perform rousing Irish holiday tunes and share stories on the history and traditions of an Irish Christmas.

Teada performs at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the National Geographic Society, Grosvenor Auditorium, 1600 M St. N.W., Washington. Tickets $27. Information: 202-857-7700 or
