The power play rescued the Blast on a night when a raft of injuries was threatening to rob the team of its power.

With a roster deprived of the captain, the team's all-time leading scorer and the player-coach, the Blast persevered with two extra-man goals by newcomer Rey Martinez and captured the return game in their weekend home-and-home series with the Milwaukee Wave, 16-14, at 1st Mariner Arena.
