Arundel Mills to host fundraiser

Arundel Mills will host an after-hours charity event to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser.

The event will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the mall during Arundel Mills' Shop, Share and Care event.

Tickets are $5 at the customer service center and can be bought until the day of the event.

Seminar to address `Paperless Power'

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce's Business Tools Group seminar will be at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the chamber office, 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

The topic will be "Paperless Power: Introduction to Document Scanning," presented by Ray Smith of JustRight Technology.

The cost is $10 in advance for members and $20 for nonmembers and at the door.

Chamber plans annual meeting

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual membership meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Chartwell Golf & Country Club, 1 Chartwell Drive, Severna Park.

Members who joined in 2006 will be recognized. There will be a chance to meet the chamber's 2007 board of directors.

The cost is $40. The meeting is for chamber members only.

Children's Theatre gets first director

Kathy Swekel, of Arnold, has been named executive director of the Children's Theatre of Annapolis.

She is the first director in the organization's 47-year history. Swekel will focus on finishing the organization's Bay Head Park theater complex and coordinating programs.

She has been executive director of several other youth organizations in the region, and has been involved in arts management and production, and in producing shows at venues such as the Kennedy Center.

BWI to host anniversary event

The BWI Business Partnership, sponsored by Southwest Airlines, will celebrate Tim Campbell's first year as executive director of the Maryland Aviation Administration from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport's international terminal, upper level.

The event is free for members and $40 for others. Reservations are required. Advance registration is required by tomorrow.

Express Personnel plans grand opening

The grand opening and ribbon-cutting for Express Personnel Services will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at 104 Ridgely Ave., Suite 203, Annapolis.
